Green Valley Ranch Buffet Review

The Feast Buffet at Green Valley Ranch is good, and almost great.

Green Valley Ranch is partially owned by Station Casinos, but is a higher end property than most of the other Stations, with the exception of Red Rock Resort. Located in Green Valley, the hotel caters to visitors who want to avoid the Strip but who still want to gamble. It is a 4-star plus hotel, with nice restaurants and a great look.

The Feast Buffet at GVR was more expensive when it first opened, but lately Stations has been discounting their buffets, including GVR. At the current price levels this buffet is a great bargain.

When we ate there I had some Italian sausage (really excellent), freshly made steak fajitas (very good, but next time I'd ask for tomatoes to be added), pork ribs (well prepared), salad (great), pork egg rolls (very good), lemon chicken (didn't like it, but others might. No bite to the glaze). My son had salad (he liked it too), fresh fruit (very good), pizza (said it was better than most other buffets), and desert (didn't like the cake, too dry). Overall the selection was above average, with more live cooking stations than you will find in other places off of the Strip. I thought the carved meats looked dry, so I took a pass on them.

If they go back to charging around $25 for dinner I would recommend Boulder Station or South Point over GVR, but at the current prices GVR is a great value and very good overall.
